• Full-time, Night shifts, contract position, 16-32 week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in an IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a focus on cardiac, surgical, and telemedicine patients.
• Rotate between day and night shifts as required, with opportunities to float to similar units.
• Deliver post-operative care for cardiac patients, including those with open and closed heart surgeries.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, assisting with complex cases including trauma and vascular surgeries.
• Adhere to protocols for a Level 1 trauma center, maintaining standards for safety and quality care.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientations and ensure all employment history is accurately documented, including EMR system usage.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a similar unit.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required prior to start).
• Experience in large trauma level 1 hospitals within the last year.
• Epic EMR experience from the past 2 years (non-negotiable).
• Cardiology specialty experience, including post-op cardiac care.
• Valid RN license in the state of Vermont or appropriate licensing credentials.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PCCN certification preferred.
• Experience with cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries.
• Prior exposure to post-operative care for cardiac patients on Day 1.
• Willingness to work holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.
• Reliable transportation with all-season or snow tires for travel during colder months.
