• Full-time, temporary contract with an estimated duration of 16-32 weeks
• Night shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the telemetry unit, including Med-Surg, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Urology patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, responding promptly to any alarms or irregularities
• Assist with patient assessments, medication administration, and documenting care via the EPIC electronic medical record system
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including ancillary staff and Respiratory Support
• Cover ED HOLD patients and potentially support other tele units as scheduled
• Follow all hospital protocols, including IV therapy, bladder scans, blood draws, and glucose monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license or proof of application with applied date (processing time 6-8 weeks)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
• NIHSS certification will be required prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CMSRN certification or other relevant certifications are a plus
• Prior experience working in a Level 2 Trauma center or similar hospital environment
• Experience with various medical-surgical patient populations, including oncology, orthopedics, and urology

Additional Information

• Shifts are nights, with scheduled rotations; no self-scheduling
• Travelers are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
• Must have reliable transportation, as public transit is not available in this area—vehicles should be equipped for winter months
• Orientation will be bi-weekly, with next available start date of 1/12
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained and documentation of complete employment history is required
• No block scheduling; scheduled weekly shifts

• This assignment begins on 12/29
• Travel rate is $100/hour, local rate is $90/hour within 50 miles, and a radius rate of $95/hour for 51-100 miles from the facility
• The facility is a 341-bed hospital providing a level 2 trauma center, located at 75 Beekman St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901
