Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-risk obstetric care in a Level III Labor and Delivery unit within a busy, 895-bed regional hospital.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients throughout all stages of labor, including high-risk cases such as pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and preterm labor.
• Administer medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, and start IVs as needed.
• Float to Mother Baby Unit and Neonatal ICU, supporting newborn assessments and care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including anesthesia and ancillary staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately using Sunrise Clinical Systems and Centricity fetal monitoring systems.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience in a facility with 500+ beds.
• High-risk obstetric experience with proficiency in assessments, medication infusions, and basic procedures.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Ability to handle a patient load of 1:2 ratio, including float responsibilities.
• Strong work ethic, dependable team player, and self-starter.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Magnet-recognized hospital or large healthcare facility.
• Certifications in inpatient OB, maternal/newborn nursing, or fetal monitoring.
• Previous travel or larger hospital experience preferred.
