Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support to oncology patients in a clinical setting.
- Assist physicians with patient assessments, documentation, and minor procedures such as injections and suture removal.
- Monitor patient condition during infusion treatments, ensuring safety and reporting outcomes to providers.
- Verify patient results, labs, x-rays, and reports are accurately documented prior to physician review.
- Maintain clinic cleanliness, organize supplies, and ensure equipment is properly used and maintained.
- Adhere to hospital policies, medication protocols, and quality assurance standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current New Mexico Registered Nurse licensure.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential or ability to obtain per board regulations.
- Chemo infusion certification preferred.
- Experience working in a medical office/physician practice preferred.
- Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities in English.
- Ability to perform procedures such as injections, sutures, and medication management.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an oncology or infusion center.
- Familiarity with medical office equipment and procedures.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with excellent patient communication skills.
