Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the IMC, PCU, or stepdown units with high-acuity needs.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage IV infusions, and oversee complex patient procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Administer medications, including chemotherapy and blood products, following safety guidelines.
  • Respond to patient needs promptly, utilizing rapid response teams when required.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic health records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-acuity nursing units such as IMC, PCU, or stepdown.
  • Valid RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH.
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insertion, port access, and central line management.
  • Ability to manage cardiac drips and titrate medications per protocol.
  • Experience with high-flow oxygen delivery devices and tracheostomy management.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Prior travel nursing experience in similar high-acuity settings.
  • Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and monitoring.
  • Advanced skills in phlebotomy, wound care, and non-invasive airway management.
  • Knowledge of complex infusion protocols, including insulin titration and arterial line care.

Note: This role involves floating within related units based on staffing needs, with a typical ratio of 1:4-5 patients. Weekend shifts are variable and scheduled accordingly.
