Key Responsibilities
- Float to various ICU and intermediate care units, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and specialized units such as Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit (COVID).
- Provide clinical review and auto-offers, ensuring high-quality patient care during night shifts.
- Adhere to hospital policies, including float policies and safety protocols.
- Work every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays as scheduled.
- Manage patient care in fast-paced, critical environments with flexibility and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- Current VA nursing license (or pending VA license submission)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Epic electronic medical record experience
- Level 1 Trauma experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week, with approval for time off when needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous ICU or critical care experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting
- Familiarity with float policies and multi-unit care coordination
