Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in the Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, or Stepdown units for high-acuity patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to emergent situations with appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, and manage ventilated patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway devices.
• Perform procedures such as blood draws, port access, and IV therapy, including PICC lines and peripheral lines.
• Care for patients with respiratory support devices like Bipap, CPAP, HFNC, and high-flow nasal cannula, interpreting ABGs and managing airway equipment.
• Manage patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions, including CVA and traumatic brain injury, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation precautions, and practice emergency response as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, with strong ventilator management skills.
• Valid RN license.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, including central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration.
• Competence in ventilator management and ventilated patient care.
• Strong understanding of protocols for pulmonary, renal, neurological, and psychiatric patient care.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity or trauma hospital environment.
• Familiarity with Epic charting or similar EMR systems.
• Ability to float between departments as needed within scope of practice.
