Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.
• Manage patient assessments, medication administration, and documentation using systems such as Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Work as part of storm/hurricane response teams, including potential assignments during catastrophic events or disasters.
• Complete unit orientation, including two shifts on the unit after hospital orientation.
• Maintain compliance by passing EKG testing prior to start.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• BCLS and NIH certifications.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Experience with neuro surgical patients preferred.
• Must be flexible to work night shifts and weekends.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in neuro surgical units is a plus.
• Familiarity with hospital systems such as EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to unit needs, including potential consolidation to central locations.
