Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Full-time, 12-hour Night shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to a busy cardiac and stroke unit, including stable post- and pre-procedure cardiac patients.
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone, and others.
- Monitor and respond to telemetry and high-flow oxygen therapy, including BIPAP and non-rebreather mask use.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and ongoing care for complex cardiac patients.
- Collaborate with a team lead to ensure efficient unit operation, turnover, and patient safety.
- Uphold unit protocols, including rapid patient turnover and fast-paced environment management.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit.
- Valid RN license.
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drips.
- Ability to handle a patient load of up to 6 patients comfortably.
- Pass EKG testing prior to start.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience caring for COVID-positive patients using opti-flow and BIPAP.
- Familiarity with high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical units.
- Ability to work independently with minimal block scheduling.
- Comfort working in a unit with high patient turnover.
