Key Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to patients with neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses
- Administer medications and utilize hospital systems such as Pyxis and Epic for documentation and communication
- Follow established patient care protocols, including unit-specific procedures and SBAR reporting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to staffing ratios of 1:6 and maintain compliance with all unit and hospital policies
- Participate in unit orientations and possibly work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of storm/hurricane teams
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina
- BCLS and NIH certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with neuro surgical or neuro diagnoses
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
- Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as scheduled
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior neuro specialty experience is highly preferred
- Experience with hospital medication systems such as Pyxis and electronic health records (Epic)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
