Key Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to adult patients in a long-term acute care (LTAC) setting.
- Manage and monitor patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wounds, IV antibiotics, CVA, trauma, and cardiac issues.
- Perform PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and care for tracheostomy patients.
- Titrate and manage IV drips, including Heparin, with an understanding of titratable and set-rate infusions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring continuous patient monitoring with housewide tele packs.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application process.
- BLS and ACLS certifications preferred (not required).
- Experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy care.
- Ability to titrate IV drips, including Heparin.
- Understanding of respiratory equipment troubleshooting.
- Willingness to float to ICU and Acute Rehab as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a long-term acute care environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring and managing ventilated patients and telemetry strips.
