Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to adult patients in a long-term acute care (LTAC) setting.
• Manage and monitor patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wounds, IV antibiotics, CVA, trauma, and cardiac issues.
• Perform PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and care for tracheostomy patients.
• Titrate and manage IV drips, including Heparin, with an understanding of titratable and set-rate infusions.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor and troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring continuous patient monitoring with housewide tele packs.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application process.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred (not required).
• Experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy care.
• Ability to titrate IV drips, including Heparin.
• Understanding of respiratory equipment troubleshooting.
• Willingness to float to ICU and Acute Rehab as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a long-term acute care environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring and managing ventilated patients and telemetry strips.
