Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a 56-bed Level I trauma center.
• Manage adult and pediatric patients with diverse emergency conditions, including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory, and psychiatric cases.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform cardiac monitoring, and obtain 12-lead EKGs.
• Administer IV therapies, including medications, blood products, and procedural sedation.
• Respond to trauma and emergency situations, including airway management and trauma care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Cerner electronic charting.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Active Illinois RN license or in the application process with an ETA.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• Experience with adult and pediatric emergency cases, including CVA, TBI, airway management, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and IV therapy.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I trauma center or Magnet-designated hospital.
• Ability to float within scope if necessary.
• Strong skills in trauma, neurological, orthopedic, and respiratory emergency procedures.
