Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular surgical patients in the CVOR setting.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety during complex cardiovascular procedures.
• Administer and monitor medications, assist with anesthesia, and manage patient stabilization.
• Handle preoperative and postoperative care within the CVOR and general OR environments.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols, including laser safety and specimen handling procedures.

Required Qualifications
• Active Illinois RN license or in the application process.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cardiovascular OR or trauma settings.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work 4x10 day shifts (0615-1645).
• Experience with a variety of cardiovascular and vascular procedures, including TAVR, MAZE, ECMO, and vascular surgeries.
• Willingness to be on-call, with one night per week and weekend call rotation.
• Current certs: BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• First-time travelers accepted if they have trauma or cardiovascular OR experience.
• Experience with advanced cardiovascular procedures such as intra-aortic balloon pump, LVAD, or pericardial window.
• Prior experience in a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital setting.
