Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), including pre-operative and post-operative cardiac surgical patients.
- Monitor and assess patients for stability, potential deterioration, and response to treatments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and care details accurately using electronic health record systems.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in patient conditions, maintaining high acuity care standards.
- Float to other units such as Medical/Surgical when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current California RN license
- Valid BLS certification
- Valid ACLS certification
- EPIC electronic charting experience
- At least 2 years of critical care or ICU experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a CVICU or cardiac specialty unit
- Knowledge of cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures such as bypass surgery, pacemaker insertions, and arrhythmia management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-acuity environment
