Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to ventilated and critically ill patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia.
• Initiate and titrate IV drips such as vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics.
• Assist with procedures including intubations and line placements.
• Monitor patient status utilizing advanced equipment like Phillips heart monitors, EHR systems, Pyxis medication dispensing, EKG machines, and dopplers.
• Support a mixed acuity unit with both ICU and progressive care patients, primarily caring for progressive patients.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Indiana RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Strong background in critical care, with excellent critical thinking, team orientation, and personable demeanor.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing complex critical care procedures.
• Ability to float to other units including other ICUs, progressive care units, and Med/Surg as needed.
• Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends, with possible weekend-only assignments.
