Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 13-week contract, floating as needed, 36 or 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a 24-bed inpatient cardiac telemetry unit, managing pre- and post-cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, pacemaker management, stress tests, and arterial/venous sheath management
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Lasix, and nitrates for stable chest pain and NSTEMI patients
• Respond to and manage arrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, and related patient needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure timely patient care and turnover, maintaining rapid patient admission and discharge processes
• Adhere to unit protocols and safety standards, including passing EKG testing prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Telemetry or cardiac unit
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to work night shifts and float to similar units as needed
• Must pass EKG testing prior to employment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac procedures such as pre/post cath, pacemaker management, and management of cardiac drips
• Knowledge of cardiac patient populations including TIA, carotid stent patients, and arrhythmia management
