Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Wausau, WI
Schedule / Job Type: Rotating shifts (including evenings, nights, and occasional days)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients in a labor and delivery unit, including triage, labor, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Utilize EPIC and OBIX systems for electronic documentation and fetal monitoring archiving.
- Assist with medical procedures related to obstetrics, neonatal, and surgical patient care.
- Monitor and support patients during active labor, epidural administration, oxytocin and magnesium infusions.
- Coordinate with support staff, including RNs and CNAs, to ensure optimal patient care.
- Adhere to unit protocols, including safety standards and certifications such as NRP and BLS.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license and certification in BLS and NRP.
- Prior experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery/newborn care.
- Experience with basic medical/surgical patient care.
- Ability to perform or demonstrate completion of a Basic Electronic Fetal Monitoring course (intermediate preferred).
- Knowledge of or training in Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (preferred but not required).
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience with high-risk obstetric procedures and neonatal resuscitation.
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records systems like EPIC.
- Knowledge of OBIX and fetal monitoring protocols.
- Certifications such as STABLE are a plus.
