- Full-time, contract, 13-week assignment, night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including vaginal deliveries and Caesarean sections.
- Monitor fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring technologies and document findings accurately.
- Collaborate with obstetric and nursing team members to ensure safe and quality patient outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies regarding documentation, infection control, and professional conduct.
- Demonstrate leadership by independently applying critical thinking, scientific judgment, and technical skills.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
- Fetal monitoring certification (Basic and Advanced preferred).
- Proficiency with Meditech and CPN documentation systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, with a rotating schedule.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with fetal monitoring equipment and hospital-specific procedures.
- Knowledge of obstetric and neonatal care protocols.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Previous experience in a similar high-volume labor and delivery unit.
