Schedule / Job Type
- Travel / 13-week assignment, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM, weekdays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients in the outpatient surgery setting, including IV starts, vital signs, patient education, and discharge instructions.
- Assist with patient preparation for surgery, including shaving, obtaining consent, brief health history, and medication administration.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure Patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Utilize hospital-standard equipment and EMR systems to document care accurately.
- Support the surgical team during various procedures across multiple specialties.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- BLS and ALS certifications
- Experience in Same Day Surgery (SDS) or outpatient surgical environments
- Familiarity with starting IVs, vital sign monitoring, and patient preparation for surgery
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in surgical and post-surgical care settings
- Proficiency in IV starts and pre-operative/post-operative procedures
- Knowledge of outpatient and operating room workflows
