Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care Unit, PCU, or Stepdown setting, utilizing the nursing process.
• Float between departments and/or local locations within a 20-mile radius as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, actions, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document accurately.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Meet patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in New Mexico or a compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from recognized providers.
• Successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during the first week of assignment.
• Minimum of two years current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry or progressive care unit.
• Experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care setting required.
• Completion of at least one 13-week travel nursing assignment preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR system preferred.
• Flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
