Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with a wide variety of complaints, from minor injuries to critically ill conditions.
• Monitor and titrate various IV drips, including vasopressors, cardiac medications, and antihypertensives, to stabilize patients effectively.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment.
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond to life-threatening rhythms promptly.
• Assist with patient assessments, treatments, and documentation adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Participate in emergency procedures such as trauma care, cardiac arrests, strokes, and other critical events.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois registered nurse license or current application status confirmed.
• BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably including at least one travel assignment in an emergency or critical care setting.
• Proficient in general nursing skills, including medication administration, patient monitoring, and emergency interventions.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms from Phillips monitors.
• Experience with titrating vasopressors and other critical drips.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• SANE RN (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) experience.
• Prior work in a teaching hospital with residents.
• Experience caring for trauma patients and working within a Level 1 trauma environment.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations and handle a wide patient acuity spectrum.
