Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary diabetes management team to deliver diabetes education to patients and families.
• Utilize the nursing process and work with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and legal standards.
• Document patient care activities accurately and in accordance with standards.
• Support departmental quality improvement initiatives and participate in shared governance activities.
• Act as a resource for patient education and support staff in developing educational materials and addressing patient education issues.
• Advocate for patients by addressing clinical, psychosocial, and financial needs, ensuring quality care.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois and Wisconsin.
• Approved CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) certification required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in diabetes education or chronic disease management.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices and standards of care.
• Ability to work variable shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call as necessary.
