Key Responsibilities
• Perform venipuncture, capillary (heelsticks, fingersticks), and arterial draws for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
• Collect specimens from inpatient units and the emergency room, servicing various departments including critical care, pediatrics, and maternity.
• Utilize equipment such as Soft ID for inpatient order management, Zebra printers for labeling, and MC40 Android devices for communication and order viewing.
• Walk significant distances during shifts, often 8-10 miles, to ensure timely specimen collection across multiple units.
• Work independently on floors during morning draws, rotating through different hospital departments as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and dress code standards, including wearing royal blue scrubs and PPE when necessary.

Required Qualifications
• BLS certification through AHA.
• Ability to draw blood from patients of all ages and walk 8-10 miles per shift.
• Experience with inpatient specimen collection procedures.
• Competency in using hospital equipment such as Soft ID, Zebra printers, and MC40 Android devices.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently on hospital floors.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• PBT certification is a plus but not required.
• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly in inpatient or emergency environments.
• Ability to handle high-volume draws, especially during early morning shift peaks.
