  • Full-time, Days shift, 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment possible

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide acute care for patients in an intermediate care, progressive care, or step-down unit with a focus on respiratory and telemetry monitoring
  • Manage ventilated patients, administer IV therapies, and interpret dysrhythmias
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, charge nurses, and management to ensure quality patient care
  • Follow unit protocols, including emergency procedures and respiratory management
  • Document patient assessments and interventions accurately within electronic health records

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a similar setting
  • Valid RN license
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Skills in IV start, vent management, telemetry interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
  • Ability to pass EKG testing prior to assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with NIHSS assessment
  • Prior travel nursing experience accepted, first-time travelers considered
  • Knowledge of high-acuity patient populations including COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, and flu patients

Additional Details

  • RTO (Requested Time Off) after booking is not permitted; no RTO for the initial assignment period
  • Float requirements to similar units, with experience preferred in related areas
  • Weekend shifts required (4 in 6 weeks, with potential for more)
  • Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, COVID-19, and chest tube management
  • Resources include an admission/discharge nurse, assistant nurse manager, vascular access team, and RRT/Code Team
  • Unit equipped with chest tubes, infusions (dopamine, Heparin, Cardizem), ventilators for chronic patients
  • Electronic systems include Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for communication
