Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for labor and delivery patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Maintain patient safety by ensuring 1:1 care for labor patients, 1:2 for cytotec inductions, and 1:1 for magnesium sulfate patients.
- Monitor and assess mother and baby during labor and delivery, including routine and emergent situations.
- Document patient care and interventions accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and float to different units as needed, following Prisma Health floating policies.
- Ensure compliance with all nursing standards and hospital protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid South Carolina RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and AWHONN certifications.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year with EPIC.
- Ability to float to various units within the health system and perform tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Experience with labor and delivery nursing in a hospital setting.
- Familiarity with Prisma Health policies and procedures.
