- Full-time, onsite, rotating shifts (4x12 hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a busy Medical Surgical unit within an acute care hospital
- Manage PICC lines and start IVs, demonstrating clinical competence in these procedures
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including working with trach and laryngectomy patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective patient care
- Document patient information accurately using Cerner electronic health record system
- Assist with patient education and coordinate care to optimize outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois registered nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- Experience with PICC line management and starting IVs
- Willingness to learn and care for trach and laryngectomy patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting system
- Ability to work in a Level I trauma center
- Flexibility to work up to 1:7 patient ratio if necessary
