- Full-time, days shifts (12 hours per shift)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care nursing for patients in IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, including monitoring and managing complex medical conditions.
- Interpret and respond to telemetry, dysrhythmias, and emergency situations with appropriate interventions.
- Manage post-cardiac procedures such as angiograms, cath lab recoveries, and cardiac surgeries.
- Care for patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and renal issues, including dialysis management.
- Administer IV therapies, manage vascular access devices, and monitor medication drips per protocols.
- Perform wound care, including wound vac management, and follow infection control and isolation procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license
- At least 2 years of recent experience in coronary, telemetry, or stepdown units
- Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certifications
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Experience with IV therapy, medication titration, and vascular access management
- Knowledge of trauma, surgical drains, and respiratory support equipment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Cerner EHR system proficiency
- Experience in teaching hospitals and Level I trauma centers
