Registered Nurse Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for telemetry patients with diagnoses such as MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, and post-lung surgeries
- Interpret EKGs and titrate medications like Cardizem and Heparin
- Monitor and troubleshoot telehealth monitors and equipment, including Phillips monitors and respiratory devices (Cpap, Bipap, high flow)
- Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors to ensure optimal patient care and safety
- Assist with managing patients with chest tubes, pacemaker/AICD placements, and other complex conditions
- Follow unit protocols and maintain compliance with certification and licensing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois RN license or active application in process
- BLS certification; ACLS recommended
- Experience with EKG interpretation and medication titration (e.g., Heparin, Cardizem)
- Proficiency in basic nursing skills and patient assessment
- Ability to interpret telemonitor data (Phillips monitors preferred)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a telemetry or cardiac ICU setting
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
- Familiarity with ventilator equipment and troubleshooting (Cpap, Bipap, heated high flow)
