Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, including catheterizations, stent placements, and device implantations.
- Assist with equipment setup, procedure assistance, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control protocols, including isolation precautions.
- Work within scope to support patient care, float as needed, and adhere to scheduled shifts and call requirements.
- Operate with proficiency in Cerner charting systems and hospital-specific procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac cath lab setting.
- Active license to practice as a cath lab technologist in Illinois.
- Certifications including ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS.
- Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and related equipment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records system.
- Knowledge of advanced cardiology procedures such as PCI, PTCA, and IABP placement/removal.
- Comfort working in a Level I trauma center environment.
