Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, rotating shifts, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, responses, and care actions.
- Coordinate patient recovery and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in clinical tasks.
- Meet patient and family education needs and ensure proper discharge planning.
- Complete competency testing and training in line with unit standards and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nursing license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
- At least one previous 13-week travel assignment in a similar setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of current experience in a related specialty.
- Ability to pass the BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) test within the first week of assignment.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic medical record system experience (training available on-site).
