Schedule / Job Type

• Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, EOW (every other weekend)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to orthopedic, trauma, and elective/protocol patients in a Medical Surgical/Tele environment.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative assessments and procedures.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and care coordination.
• Use safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic devices such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, including passing required exams like the EKG.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Orthopedic and trauma care experience required.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to manage a 1:6 (potentially stretch to 1:7) nurse to patient ratio.
• Knowledge of orthopedic equipment and protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs.
• Familiarity with orthopedic trauma cases.
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and orthopedic-specific equipment.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
