Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts (3 shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for orthopedic surgical patients during pre-op and post-op phases.
• Manage elective and trauma patients with a focus on orthopedic conditions.
• Utilize orthopedic and trauma equipment, including CPM machines, knee immobilizers, bone foam, and other specialized tools.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams to ensure patient safety.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC electronic health records.
• Follow safe patient handling procedures and maintain compliance with hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience; no first-time travelers.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to perform and pass the Pass/Fail EKG exam required by the facility.
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures, including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements/repairs, and trauma care.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma cases.
• Familiarity with orthopedic equipment and specialty supplies such as CPM, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
• Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record system.
