Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to cardiac and respiratory patients in a PCU/IMC/Stepdown unit
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, monitor telemetry, and administer cardiac and vasoactive drips within scope
• Administer procedural sedation, manage chest tubes, tracheostomy, and external BIPAP/CPAP devices
• Ensure patient safety through Continuous Monitoring and timely response to rapid response team activations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient assessments, treatment planning, and discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards, including mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac or telemetry setting
• Cardiac PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required, with comfort in 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH certification preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac drips (non-titrating)
• Experience with peripheral lines, PICC line management, and managing Vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Knowledge of Chest tube, Pleur-eVac, external CPAP/BIPAP, and tracheostomy management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience is a plus
• Experience with rapid response team activation and management of respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia
• Familiarity with use of telemetry equipment and post-cardiac cath care
