Key Responsibilities
• Provide patient care on a high-volume medical-surgical unit, including tracking a variety of diagnoses such as ostomy, colon resection, colon and bladder cancers, and other GU conditions
• Monitor and manage patients with remote telemetry, colostomy, feeding tubes, and central/peripheral lines
• Administer blood products, IV therapy, Heparin, Insulin, PCA, and perform procedures such as blood draws, line management, and starting IVs
• Perform specialized procedures including Foley catheterization, CBI, and management of epidurals and CBIs, with an understanding of telemonitoring systems
Required Qualifications
• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical experience
• Knowledge of telemetry, IV insertion, line management, and medication administration including blood products and drips
• Ability to work independently and within scope, with basic familiarity with Epic charting system
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience caring for colorectal, pelvic, or oncology surgical patients
• Prior telemonitoring knowledge or experience is advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment

Additional Details
• Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift
• Total shifts per week: 3
• Shift start date options: 12/8 or 1/5
• Pending license accepted; local candidates not required to reside nearby
• No guaranteed hours beyond 36 per week; orientation parking provided at a designated garage
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• On-call not required; flexibility within scope for float within service line is available
Note: This hospital has high patient turnover, with cases involving complex surgeries and diverse medical needs. The unit administers multiple drips including Heparin, Lidocaine, and Bivalirubin, among others.
