• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 16-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on post-surgical and acute care patients.
• Manage patient diagnoses including ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and other GU conditions.
• Administer medications, including drips such as Heparin, Bivalirudin, Amiodarone, and manage infusion devices like PCA, epidurals, and CBI.
• Perform clinical procedures including IV starts, blood draws, central line management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and telemonitoring.
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
• Collaborate within a team to ensure quality patient outcomes and compliance with care protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license, pending license accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with telemetry, central line management, blood product administration, and specific procedures such as colostomy and feeding tube care.
• Basic telehealth knowledge preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with colorectal and oncological patient care.
• Familiarity with hospital protocols involving drips such as Heparin and Bivalirudin.
• Knowledge of EPIC electronic health records.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-turnover surgical unit.
