Registered Nurse PACU

- Full-time, Days shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in the PACU, ensuring safe recovery and discharge
- Manage patients requiring ICU-level care and recovery, including vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, children, and bariatric patients
- Monitor and operate specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, arterial lines, ICP monitors, fetal heart monitors, wound vacs, and SCD pumps
- Assist with special procedures and oversee patient assessments, discharge criteria, and documentation in EPIC and Pyxis systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during recovery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in PACU or ICU setting
- Must have at least 1-2 ratings on ICU screening checklist (Phase 1-2 PACU experience)
- Valid ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
- Traveler experience required; local candidates accepted with rate inquiry if living within 50 miles of the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience
- Experience with conscious sedation, FHM, ICP, telemetry, vents, pediatric recovery, and ICU background prior to PACU
- Pediatric care experience including T&A, ears, hernias, cleft lip/palate

Additional Notes
- RTO (return to origin) and time off requests are not permitted after booking
- May be required to work during storms, hurricanes, or disasters as part of the storm/hurricane team
- No floating to ICU; focus on PACU recovery and management of post-surgical patients
- Night and weekend shifts available; schedule may vary
