Registered Nurse Nephrology

Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Nephrology

Schedule / Job Type
• Days, Part-time (1 shift per week)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide nursing coverage within a nephrology clinic, supporting patient examinations, treatments, procedures, and phone triage under provider supervision.
• Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation of clinical interactions.
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
• Administer medications as ordered by healthcare providers within the scope of practice.
• Assist with patient education and ensure smooth clinic flow.

Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited RN program or licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Current nursing license in the state of Iowa.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care preferred.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode BLS certification, with certification completed within three months of hire.
• Strong nursing skills with patient-focused service orientation.
• Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with Windows operating systems and PC skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in nephrology, home health, or managing cardiac/diabetic patient populations.
• Prior experience in phone triage, ER triage, or outpatient clinic settings.
• Membership or certification in a specialized nursing organization is highly desirable.
