Key Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team
• Ensure the integrity of sterilized items by checking packaging, processing, and expiration dates
• Monitor the sterile field for contamination or disturbances and initiate corrective actions as needed
• Support room turnovers, patient transports, and room preparations to ensure efficient surgical operations
• Maintain current knowledge of surgical technologies, instrumentation, and procedures
• Model professional and effective communication within the perioperative team, including participation in briefings and debriefings

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or Licensed Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures
• Ability to work in a healthcare environment with potential hazards such as biological, chemical, or radiation hazards

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Tier 1 surgical cases or equivalent training
• Familiarity with AORN standards and current surgical technologies
• Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and work effectively under stress
