Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 13-16 week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on the Observation Unit, primarily managing short stays up to two midnights
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmias
- Initiate and maintain IVs, including PICC line management
- Assist with patient diagnosis and symptom management, including dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, nausea, vomiting, and post-procedure care
- Support patient transitions to hospice or other care as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including APPs and supervising MDs, in a ratio of 1:4
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Proficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, starting IVs, and PICC line management
- Ability to work night shifts and with occasional floating to assist with inpatient Med/Surg Tele patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS and OCNS certifications preferred
- Experience with chemotherapy, radiation symptom management, and caring for diverse diagnoses such as acute kidney injury, urinary tract infections, syncope, and fever of unknown origin
