Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, dayshift, 4 days per week, approximately 10 hours per shift
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgical setting, including preoperative preparations and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Review patient history, reconcile medications, obtain vital signs, start IVs, and administer medications as ordered.
- Monitor patients during recovery, review discharge instructions, and assist with patient transfers.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Float within scope to meet department needs, with potential for additional responsibilities based on unit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid SC or Compact Nursing license
- BLS certification
- Radiation badge (to be provided by parent company)
- Minimum of 1 year of perioperative nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, total joints
- Well-rounded background with specialties aligned to the unit’s caseload; candidates experienced in outpatient or ambulatory surgical settings preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different surgical specialties.
