Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Middlebury, VT

Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, 36 hours per week, with potential for additional hours; rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts; no weekend blocks required; no call required; holiday work required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care to patients across all age groups within various hospital units including ICU, ED, and newborn care.
• Manage and monitor ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical records system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Support unit operations during assigned shifts, adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Cover shifts including nights, with a schedule of three shifts per week.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Vermont State Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Certified or eligible for the NBRC written exam (RRT or CRT).
• Must hold or obtain certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Recent NICU experience (within the last year) required.
• Epic electronic health records experience within the past 2 years.
• Ability to work 2 out of 4 major holidays.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior travel or hospital experience preferred.
• Pediatric and neonatal respiratory care experience.
• Comfortable working in a small critical access hospital setting.
• Reliable transportation, with all-season or snow tires recommended during winter months.
