Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients across a wide range of ages and conditions.
- Assess, prioritize, and respond to patient needs in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma setting.
- Administer medications, including titration of vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips.
- Collaborate with attendings, mid-level providers, ED techs, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Interpret cardiac and monitor rhythms, and respond appropriately to life-threatening situations.
- Document patient care accurately and follow all protocol requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or evidence of application in process.
- BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment.
- Proficiency in vasopressor and cardiac drip titration.
- Clear understanding of emergency nursing protocols in a trauma-level 1 environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- SANE RN experience.
- Experience caring for critically ill patients, including cardiac arrest, strokes, and trauma cases.
- Ability to work in a teaching hospital setting with residents.
- Experience with managing diverse patient populations from newborns to elderly.
