Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to a predominantly elderly patient population in a cardio-focused hospital setting
- Manage critical care cases and medically challenged patients in the Emergency Room
- Perform EKG assessments and pass a screening test on the first day of orientation
- Cover floating assignments within the service line and locations as needed, including Highland Park, Glenbrook, and Skokie
- Participate in holiday and alternating weekend shifts, with minimal days off allowed
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- CPR and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke, PALS, TNCC, or TNS certifications
- Epic electronic health record system experience
- At least 2 years of ER experience
- Ability to pass an EKG test on the first day of orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiology hospital experience
- Experience caring for elderly and critically ill patients
- Comfortable with floating assignments within the service line and multiple locations
