Job Title
- Registered Nurse - ICU
Location
- Chesapeake, VA
Schedule / Job Type
- 4 shifts per week, Nights, 12-hour shifts, potential OT after 48 hours, rotational shifts including weekends, holidays, and float shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized ICU nursing care for neuro, post-neurosurgical, stroke, and critical patients
- Manage ventilators, IV drips, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
- Respond to emergencies and dysrhythmias following established protocols
- Float to step-down units, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Ensure patient safety and comfort through adherence to advanced nursing procedures
Required Qualifications
- Strong neuro nursing experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Valid VA license and compact license in hand at submission
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Able to float to different units and handle critical care scenarios
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 3 or more years of critical care experience, specifically in neuroscience or ICU settings
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
