Job Title
• Registered Nurse - ICU

• Chesapeake, VA

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts), days

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized critical care nursing for ICU patients, including post-neurosurgical, stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, MODS, and heart failure cases
• Monitor and titrate IV drips, manage ventilators, and perform telemetry monitoring
• Administer conscious sedation and manage dysrhythmias and emergencies
• Float to Stepdown units, ED, or MedSurg as needed, ensuring consistent patient care
• Adhere to patient safety standards, including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS protocols
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications
• Valid medical license with VA or compact license at the time of submission
• Strong neuro-critical care experience, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care
• BLS, ACLS certification via the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification required
• Must have at least 3 years of critical care experience or demonstrated strong neuro experience
• EPIC proficiency
• Valid driver’s license for address verification

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with ventilators, IV drip titration, and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to float between ICU, stepdown, and other units as needed
