Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Rio Rancho, NM
Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, temp-to-hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency room utilizing the nursing process during night shifts.
- Ensure patient safety, effective care, and compliance with protocols in a fast-paced environment.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs and responses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, adhering to policies and standards.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed personnel as assigned.
- Complete competency testing and adhere to unit-specific protocols and education requirements.
- Float between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- Two (2) years of current experience in a large emergency department.
- Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar.
- Ability to pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Epic electronic health record experience (training available on-site).
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
