Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in the ICU, including managing complex patient conditions such as dysrhythmias, cardiac post-op, and ventilated patients.
• Interpret and manage EKG/ECG, arterial blood gases, and other diagnostic data.
• Administer medications, including IV infusions and sedation, and perform procedures like sheath removal, port access, and chest tube management.
• Monitor and support patients requiring advanced respiratory support such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.
• Adhere to infection prevention standards, use PPE correctly, and ensure patient safety through meticulous documentation and care procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of ICU nursing experience (may be screened shorter depending on skills).
• Valid ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a state license (IN, compact, or temporary IN license).
• Ability to float to PCU with experience in higher patient ratios.
• Flexibility to work major holidays as required.
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias, manage ventilators, and handle emergency medications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in managing cardiac surgeries, cath lab procedures, renal failure, and complex wound care.
• Knowledge of hypothermia protocols and ARDS management.
• Strong proficiency in ventilator care and multiple invasive lines (central, PICC, arterial).
• Ability to perform procedural sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.

Additional Details

• Shifts: Typically 8-10 hours, 3 shifts per week totaling 36-40 hours.
• Effective 11/30/24, IN licensed RNs will not be permitted to work at this facility unless exempted.
