• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, weekly 3 shifts, 16-32 week assignment, rotating schedule, no block scheduling, evenings included

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on telemetry units, including med-surg, ortho, and urology patients
• Work in various units including ED hold, with the possibility of floating to other tele units as scheduled
• Monitor and operate medical equipment such as IV pumps, bladder scanners, and respiratory support devices
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care, including blood draws, glucose monitoring, and central line management
• Assist with patient assessments, documentation, and medication administration in EPIC electronic medical records
• Support patients during ED hold and respond to emergency situations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid NY Registered Nurse license or proof of application with applied date (licensing process takes 6-8 weeks)
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience, including at least 1 year in relevant specialty (med-surg, telemetry)
• BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel or floating experience in acute care settings
• Knowledge of trauma protocols (Level 2 Trauma Center)
• Experience with diverse patient populations, including oncology, orthopedics, and urology

Additional Details

• Travel rate: $100 per day; distance-based stipends available
• Travel arrangements are required; reliable transportation is necessary
• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly; next available 12/15
• Work requires all employment gaps over 90 days to be explained and detailed work history in application
• No weekend requirements; holiday coverage as scheduled (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
• Facility: CVPH Champlain Valley Physician Hospital, 75 Beekman St, Plattsburgh, NY
• Unit beds: 24-25 beds; total of 341 beds facility-wide
• Equipment: IV pumps, bladder scanner, respiratory support available 24/7
• Shift hours: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, rotating schedule with every other weekend
• Dress code: Scrubs (navy blue & white) with minimal jewelry, groomed appearance
• Schedule details and rotation posted as scheduled within the facility
