Schedule / Job Type
- Per diem, 10-hour day shifts, 4 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Assist with open heart surgeries and vascular procedures
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Follow all safety protocols and participate in assessments during orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety training (must pass assessments)
- Work at least every other holiday as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 months recent CVOR experience
- Prior open heart and vascular surgical experience preferred
- Ability to scrub and circulate during surgeries
- References from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the CVOR specialty (must be recent)
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Strong knowledge of ECG rhythms and medications management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a surgical team
