Full-time, permanent, day shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with acuity level nearing ICU standards
  • Handle cardiac monitoring, including management of non-titratable cardiac drips and IV insulin protocols
  • Monitor and care for patients with chest tubes, fresh trachs, feeding tubes, and epidurals
  • Perform clinical assessments such as Doppler flap checks and management of external BiPAP/CPAP devices
  • Float to various units (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) as needed, providing consistent, high-quality patient care
  • Cover charge nurse responsibilities if operational needs require, with appropriate training provided

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience
  • Active ACLS and BCLS certifications
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, managing chest tubes, and care of different types of patients including post-surgery and respiratory support

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with surgical patients (ENT, Thoracic, General Surgery, Urology)
  • Ability to manage complex patient cases such as laryngectomies and flap checks
  • Flexibility to float across multiple specialties and units

Additional Details

  • Travelers are expected to work every other weekend, with possible consecutive weekends based on operational needs
  • Certification in ACLS and BCLS required; additional skills in cardiac, airway, and postoperative patient management preferred
  • Staff may be asked to float to different care levels with provided resources and training

Note:
Refusal to float may result in contract termination.
Candidates should be prepared to handle various post-op and high-acuity care scenarios in a diverse surgical setting.
